DESAFIOS AO TRATAMENTO DA SÍFILIS NO MUNICÍPIO DE SÃO JOAQUIM DE BICAS: APLICAÇÃO DE PENICILINA BENZATINA NAS UNIDADES BÁSICAS DE SAÚDE

A Revista Acadêmica Online, com prazer, introduz o estudo intitulado “DESAFIOS AO TRATAMENTO DA SÍFILIS NO MUNICÍPIO DE SÃO JOAQUIM DE BICAS: APLICAÇÃO DE PENICILINA BENZATINA NAS UNIDADES BÁSICAS DE SAÚDE" de lavratura dos pesquisadores:  Berenice de Freitas Diniz, Diuly Ane Faria Rezende,  José Ventura Amarante Ramos, Lucas Rodrigues Pereira Barros, Mariana Cristina Flores Emiliano, Natalia Batista Zanetti, Vitor Augusto Alves da Silva, Túlio Zulato, Keilla Elenken Henriques Rezende.

Introdução: A sífilis é uma infecção sexualmente transmissível (IST), crônica, curável e exclusiva do ser humano. Além da via sexual, outra via de infecção é a vertical. A doença, quando acomete gestantes pode ter desdobramentos severos, como sequelas para o feto e para mãe. Em contexto de assistência no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), a Sífilis é um problema de saúde pública reemergente, que requer o trabalho integrado entre gestores e profissionais da saúde. A Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS), como porta de entrada do sistema, encontra-se como local ideal para o controle da doença, quanto ao estabelecimento do diagnóstico e do tratamento. Objetivo: Compreender o perfil epidemiológico, bem como os empasses que tangem o assunto, e elaborar estratégias para otimização do tratamento de sífilis e medidas de prevenção à infecção na cidade de São Joaquim de Bicas, em Minas Gerais, no ano de 2023. Metodologia: Mediante aos empasses e gargalhos identificados com a gestão e com os profissionais da ponta, a centralização da aplicação da penincilina benzatina na unidade de pronto atendimento foi o maior deles, já que dificulta a adesão ao tratamento. Conclusão: Frente ao preocupante cenário epidemiológico relacionado, torna-se imediata a necessidade de implementação de medidas de controle e de tratamento. Para isso, recomendamos que o município inicie o tratamento da doença no território do paciente, com aplicação de penicilina realizada nas UBS. O estabelecimento de fluxogramas e de discussões com a equipe se mostra como um pilar à concretização e à otimização do tratamento no município.

ABSTRACT

 Introduction: Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI), chronic, curable and exclusive to humans. In addition to the sexual route, another route of infection is the vertical one. The disease when it affects pregnant women can have severe consequences, such as sequelae for the fetus and the mother. In the context of assistance in the Unified Health System (SUS), Syphilis is a reemerging public health problem, which requires integrated work between managers and health professionals. The Basic Health Unit (UBS), as the gateway to the system, is the ideal place to control the disease, in terms of establishing diagnosis and treatment. Objective: To understand the epidemiological profile, as well as the issues related to the subject, and to develop strategies to optimize the treatment of syphilis and measures to prevent infection in the city of São Joaquim de Bicas, in Minas Gerais, in the year 2023. Methodology: Due to the impasses and disagreements identified with management and frontline professionals, the centralization of the application of benzathine penicillin in the emergency care unit was the biggest one, since it makes adherence to treatment difficult. Conclusion: Faced with the worrying related epidemiological scenario, the need to implement control and treatment measures becomes immediate. For this, we recommend that the municipality initiate the treatment of the disease in the patient's territory, with the application of penicillin performed at the UBS. The establishment of flowcharts and discussions with the team is a pillar for the implementation and optimization of treatment in the municipality.
