ABSTRACT

Objective: To understand the role of forensic nursing in cases of child sexual violence and the role of primary care. Method: This is an integrative literature review that seeks to analyze knowledge that seeks an answer to the study's guiding question: What is the role of forensic nursing in cases of child sexual violence with a focus on primary care? Publications produced from 2010 onwards were analyzed, with full texts available in the virtual health library (VHL) databases, such as LILACS, BDENF-Enfermagem and MEDLINE. The steps to operationalize this review followed the following steps: selection of the research question, establishment of criteria for inclusion and exclusion of studies, categorization of studies, analysis of studies, interpretation of results and presentation of the review. Results: The search in the databases resulted in the identification of 34 articles. After the final reading, 10 articles were selected that covered the objectives discussed in the development of this work. The analysis of the studied production made it possible to list three main categories developed in this study: the role of the forensic nurse in caring for victims of child sexual violence; professional qualification; lack of protocols for caring for children who are victims of child sexual abuse in primary health care. Studies show situations in which nurses are active in preserving forensic traces present on the victim's body; in objects/belongings of the victim; and documentation of remains, in addition to providing assistance services to victims and families. Conclusion: It was found that forensic nursing has an extremely important role in identifying and preserving traces in cases of child sexual violence, however the lack of training and limited execution of procedures, absence of protocols in Primary Care care are linked to the incorrect case management and lack of continuous care by nurses and victims. It is evident from this study that the implementation of public policies and existing qualified entities is necessary, aiming at strategies that strengthen the visibility of forensic nursing in Brazil, given that the impact of sexual violence on children's health is of great importance. complexity. More research on the topic is needed, in addition to the inclusion of this topic in undergraduate courses, contributing to the training of qualified professionals.
